Version 1.0.1 Effective date: 28 August 2026 Last updated: 28 August 2026
These terms govern use of the Husika public-participation website, accounts and related features. Husika operates the service. Questions about these terms may be sent to [email protected].
By creating an account, submitting content or using a feature that refers to these terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use that account or feature. Public pages may remain available without an account.
Husika provides public-interest information and participation features, which may include published policies, articles, events, surveys, feedback, comments, profiles and account tools. Features vary by item and configuration.
Husika does not promise that every policy, consultation, source document, response or update will be available. Summaries and status information help people understand an item but do not replace the issuing body's source document or official channel. Check the source and deadline shown before relying on an item.
Husika is not a government body merely because it links to or discusses public information. A link or reference does not by itself show endorsement, partnership or official status.
The service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, do not create an account or submit personal information through participation features.
New account creation requires a date of birth and the server rejects missing, invalid, future or under-18 dates using the Africa/Nairobi calendar date. Husika retains the birth year rather than the full date used for this check. Existing-account sign-in remains available without repeating new-account eligibility.
When using an account, you must:
provide accurate information that you are entitled to provide;
keep your credentials secure and not share authentication tokens;
promptly tell Husika at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised; and
keep your contact details reasonably current.
Available registration methods depend on the service configuration. Google sign-in is currently enabled and is optional. Its own terms and privacy practices also apply when you choose it.
You are responsible for feedback, comments, survey answers, uploads, profile details and other material you submit. Do not submit:
material you have no right to share;
another person's personal information without an appropriate reason and authority;
unlawful, threatening, fraudulent, abusive or impersonating content;
malicious code, attempts to bypass security or content that disrupts the service; or
passwords, authentication tokens or unnecessary sensitive information.
Where an interface clearly marks a submission as public, choosing to publish it allows Husika to display it for that feature. Other personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. You remain responsible for third-party rights in anything you submit.
Participation controls may close or change with an item's status. A submission does not guarantee that Husika or a public body will review, forward, publish or answer it, or that it will influence an outcome. Do not assume a submission is anonymous unless the specific interface says so.
A survey may accept signed-in or anonymous responses when configured to do so. An anonymous survey uses a protected browser cookie to reduce repeat submissions. Clearing the cookie or using another browser can permit another response, so the control does not prove one person has responded only once. Survey-specific instructions and notices also apply.
Do not misuse the service, interfere with another person's access, scrape or overload it in a harmful way, probe it without authority, evade participation controls, or use it for unlawful activity. Reasonable, lawful access to public information is not prohibited by this section.
Husika may restrict access or remove or limit content where reasonably needed to operate or secure the service, address unlawful or harmful conduct, protect users or comply with a lawful process. You may ask [email protected] for an explanation or review. Husika will consider the circumstances and any non-waivable rights that apply.
The service may link to source documents, public bodies, Google sign-in or other third-party services. Those services are controlled by their operators and may have separate terms and privacy policies.
The AI assistant interface is enabled, but active provider names and processing locations have not been verified. Do not enter secrets, confidential material or sensitive personal information. Treat assistant output as a starting point: check important facts and do not rely on it as legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
There are currently no public document embeds. If an embed or external feature is added later, its operator's terms and data practices may also apply.
The Privacy Policy explains how Husika handles personal data, including current providers and location uncertainties. The Cookie Policy lists browser storage and explains the optional analytics and experience choices presented before those categories can run. You can reopen Cookie preferences in the footer to change or withdraw your choice.
Signed-in users can use available controls under Settings → Privacy & Data. Privacy, legal and data-rights requests may also be sent to [email protected].
Husika may correct, update, suspend or withdraw features. The service may be interrupted and may contain errors. Husika will take reasonable care in operating the service but does not promise uninterrupted availability or that all user, third-party or public-source material is complete or current.
Use source documents and official channels for decisions that require authoritative information. Nothing in these terms excludes a duty, remedy or liability that Kenyan law does not allow to be excluded.
Husika may update these terms when the service or legal requirements change. A new version will show its effective and updated dates. Material changes may also be highlighted through an appropriate service notice. Continuing to use an affected account or feature after the new terms take effect indicates acceptance where the law permits; where a fresh choice is required, Husika will request it.
These terms and disputes relating to the service are governed by the laws of Kenya. Subject to any non-waivable right or procedure, disputes are to be brought before courts of competent jurisdiction in Kenya.
Before starting court proceedings, you may contact [email protected] so the parties can try to resolve the concern, but this does not remove a right to seek urgent or lawful relief.
For service, legal or privacy questions, email [email protected]. Do not send passwords or authentication tokens by email.
